Checkered House is an on line gallery which will in the future develop into a retail location. In the meantime, we will operate on line and via temporary locations. Our goal is to feature both known and widely unknown outside, primitive, visionary, and folk artists.


We have two objectives:
1. Many of these artists are known in the southern states, but virtually unknown in the Midwest. We hope to change that and give artists some exposure in a community where we believe it will be embraced.

2. To offer affordable pieces and concentrate on art that interested new collectors can appreciate. Hopefully they will begin to build their knowledge of this lively form of art. Having been collectors ourselves for some time, and having come from families who have always been interested in these artists, we think affordability and accessibility are important.
